No one tells you that when you get crystal guardian earplugs you enter a sort of secret club. Suddenly you see the other crystal guardians on the dance floor and they see you. You make eye contact and exchange a knowing glance and nod that only two people with the finest of ear protection and great taste in music can share. You bond over how cute your earplugs are and if you need to level up on your filter. Crystal Guardians will have you thinking “wait…. Am I better than everyone else?” No. You’re not. But also, yes, you kind of are. At least your earplugs are.

I had lost a pair of these at a club sometime, somewhere, and probably when a bouncer searched my pockets.
As an avid loud music enjoyer and someone who thinks too much about sound, it's been quite necessary to have these in the pocket of my front pants at all times. So, a reorder was necessary.
Luckily, CG had the hollows of my ears on file. Just push the virtual buttons on the browser a few times and the order goes through. From then on, it was a matter of waiting. In the meantime, I tried various classic tools to dampen the sound with low quality results: fingers, tee pee, those nubby cheeto things, noise canceling earplugs... Muffling or sonic artifacts came in to cause confusion. I was sad.
11 days later, I received an alert from Crystal Guardian that these are ready to be picked up, near the popular but temporarily shuttered streaming station, The Lot Radio. I looked at my watch and I had about 40 minutes before the pickup time were to end. After a few texts, I was able to grab my ear plugs 10 minutes before closing.
I immediately popped these in. Joyous quietness came upon me. Now I can enjoy listening to what could be construed as jackhammer mixed with a M1857 12-pounder "Napoleon" with intense ease and clarity.
If you're curious, I chose the quietest filters. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite thing I never knew I needed. After leaving a concert with ears that were ringing for days, my sister got these for me as a present. I just used them for the first time at the Formula1 Grand Prix in Austin, and they worked perfectly. They are super comfortable, super good fit, super effective, and really fun to look at and touch. freakin great experience - i loved having my ears molded in the corner of a dark bar, like it's some underground operation, something illicit. When i'm really just taking measures to protect my ear drums! the ear plugs are beautiful, something to behold, and they work wonderfully. i saw dinosaur jr. shortly after i got them and goddamn am i glad they got to me in time. still heard j mascis's ripping but at a safe volume.

These are seriously a rare life changing product. Have never been able to comfortably wear earplugs while sleeping until I got these. They've helped me get good sleep in all kinds of places I wouldn't normally: loud hotels, airplanes, trains. And they're so comfy and easy to slip in and out I'll sometimes throw them in just to chill out at home. A really good investment!

these earplugs are a 1000/10!!!! Elliot is extremely knowledgeable and gave great recommendations on which filters might be best for my use.
the earplugs themselves are the best I've used. I have gone to shows for the past 15 years and never took ear protection seriously until recently. I was disappointed by the loop experience because you lost a lot of the quality with the dampening. but crystal guardian has cracked the code on offering protection that does not lose any amount of quality. I've used both -15db and -20db at two different types of shows (-15 at a more intimate acoustic performance and -20 at brat live) and can say I didn't miss anything wearing the crystal guardians. everything sounded as if I was listening on headphones with the volume turned down a little. it was such a refreshing feeling to be able to hear everything but not have the after effects of ears ringing from a particularly loud show.
the turn around time was also incredibly fast considering these were custom made! I had my impressions done on a Saturday and had the earplugs in hand the following Friday, just 13 days.
all in all, crystal guardian is making the best earplugs on the market in my opinion. I only wish I had gotten them the first time they were recommended to me a year ago!

The fit is unbelievably great, truly like they're almost not there. If you've previously used Eargasm's or other earplugs in that price range but were constantly re-adjusting them (no matter which size you put in), these ones are worth the step up.
Sound quality is also fantastic, maybe not leagues better than Eargasm-range from a price comparison but coupled with not having to think about them once they're in easily makes it worth it.
I opted for the connecting cord as I was worried about losing these expensive plugs in a concert. However, the string noise as it rubs against your hair/neck/clothing is maddening and I couldn't find any way of tightening/wrapping around the ear to get this to stop. The cord also made it a tiny bit more annoying to get them to fit into the keychain case as is. That said, knowing how snug the fit is, after 3-4 concerts I felt comfortable enough that they wouldn't fall out on their own.
Overall, highly recommend. If you're on a budget, skip the cord & colors and these are an incredible value.

I’m so glad I finally got these after a friend recommended them!
The process is super easy- the hardest part is getting to one of the meetups early enough that you’re not waiting in line.
Elliot was super nice and I played on my phone for a few minutes while the molds set in my ears… and that was it!
A few days later I had them!
I’m autistic and I usually have 3-4 different kinds of earplugs with me at all times, and I’ve tried them all.
I wore my Crystal Guardian plugs to a friend’s concert and I could still hear the higher frequencies clearly… they get muffled in a lot of earplugs and it’s a huge pet peeve of mine, so this was fantastic.
I’ll definitely be ordering again, and recommending to my musician friends!

I've had my custom earplugs for a few weeks now, and after using them on 3 gigs as a performing musician in full bands with drums, monitor wedges, etc. I can't overstate how great these have been. I feel like I can actually hear everything around me even better now because the volume of everything isn't so overwhelming.
I'm using the 15db filters, and those feel perfect to me for average rock band levels. 20db might be better if your band has super loud stage volume.
Turnaround time was also super quick and communication was great.
I've used Earasers and Eargasm in the past, and these are far superior to those in both fit and sound quality. Would highly recommend these to any musician or concert-goer looking for hearing protection with high quality-sound and fit.

Super happy with these earplugs! I've been wanting custom earplugs for a while for wearing to shows/concerts, and I'm so glad I took the plunge with Crystal Guardian. The process of getting fitted, ordering the earplugs, and getting them delivered was all super smooth and easy. The hardest part was figuring out which glitter options to choose (a good problem to have!). I wore the earplugs for the first time last night at a loud shoegaze show, and I'm happy to report that they were super comfortable and effective for several hours. I feel much more confident that my hearing is truly protected wearing these than I did with my previous $20 earplugs from Amazon. I'll be recommending these to all of my music-loving, show-going friends!

My wife and I took advantage of a free-sizing deal at the Sound Collective. It was a positive experience, and Elliot is very friendly, patient, and easy to communicate with. The earplugs work very well, and I highly recommend getting them with the cord that keeps them connected. That way, if one earplug gets knocked out, the cord prevents you from losing it. I also recommend getting the container as a keychain. Excellent product overall. Remember, you only have one set of ears, so it’s important to invest in high quality earplugs if you are someone who frequently goes to music events. Great extensive color options as well.

Elliot is the man and these earplugs are no joke. The mold-making and pickup process were quick and effortless. I just used them for the first time in the pit at back-to-back stadium shows right in front of the speakers -- the high highs and low lows were perfectly rolled off and everything else came in crystal clear and at a comfortable volume. Could not have asked for a better result. Mad at myself for not doing this decades ago, it's worth every penny for a significantly better concert experience and to protect your hearing!

A game-changer. I had Eargasm earplugs beforehand which were okay, but these truly feel next level. I didn't even realize I wasn't getting a complete seal before!
Figuring out how to put them in is a bit tricky in the beginning, but once you get used to it it's very easy and seamless. I feel like these earplugs truly make shows more enjoyable - everything still sounds clear and I get the added benefit of protection! Doesn't hurt that they're pretty stylish too!

Amazing product I got the -20db filter for motorcycle riding. They work great with a comm unit in such as a sena or cardo. They sit very well in ear without shifting when putting on a helmet. You can hear music or other riders while blocking out exhaust and wind noise. Process was simple and painless and Elliot is a really nice guy!

I've been working in entertainment my entire adult life, including nightclubs and venues in New York for the last 5+ years. It's been recommended to be before that I needed custom earplugs.
Everyone was right. I'm improving my quality of health now and for the future, and I can still hear everything I need across the frequency spectrum to keep the show going. One perk that nobody mentioned is how easy it is to put them in and take them out; it's about as quick as taking a pair of glasses out of a case and putting them on. So I don't have to slow down while I'm working.
What people do mention is that they're comfortable enough to wear all night long, which is very true. When going to concerts and events and wearing disposable foam plugs I always had sore ears the next day.
From every step of the process, and communication, it was obvious that Elliot is someone who pays attention to details, so I know I've got an exceptional pair of plugs. The person who had their impression done before mine was having trouble staying still so Elliot redid the process for them twice! I would not choose another product other than Crystal Guardian in the future. I have already recommended them to friends, and I will be getting new impressions and replacement plugs from CG - hopefully for the rest of my life.

I can't and won't stop raving about Crystal Guardians to anyone who will listen. The whole process from start to finish was simple. Elliot clearly cares about his work and anyone who comes in for a fitting. The plugs fit perfectly; after years of one-size-fits-all plugs that irritated my ears my CG plugs are a whole new experience. They handle a wide range of environments. From the hottest summer fest to the oppressive warehouse rave, I forget sometimes I'm even wearing them. The custom fit and the filters also make everything feel like a whole new sound. The customization options allow for a wide range of expressions, but I'd recommend something highlighter colored in case you drop them! Anecdotally, a friend lost one of their filters and Elliot was able to quickly get them a replacement. That kind of long term commitment to plugs speaks volumes to Elliot and Crystal Guardians.

I still recall a few years back hearing about Crystal Guardian's however I was strapped for cash; however in hindsight I wish I bought them sooner! Would have and could have protected my ears better these last few years.
After getting them; I was itching to give them a try so I went out to a proper club in Milan to see the legendary Joe Claussel play.
The best part about these earplugs is that I STILL FEEL the music and feel protected. With other earplugs I bought in the past; there was always too much blocking where the sound was way too mitigated where the experience was not enjoyable.
These are everything that a long term clubber could ask for!

I have been wearing these daily on my bicycle commute through NYC and they are amazing. The earplugs fit very securely and I never have any worries about it falling off. The 25 dB filters do an amazing job reducing the traffic noise while still allowing me to hear things that my previous earplugs (a pair of Etymotics) could not.
A bonus feature of the device is that these can function as IEM tips! The size of the filter is about the same size as the standard tip of most IEMs and bluetooth earbuds (and sound great!). However, please keep in mind that these earplugs were not designed for it, so the earbuds may fall out while on the move and the earbuds protrude way out of the ear .
Overall, I wish I had another pair of ears just so that I can order another pair. These are a must for anyone commuting in a very noise city! The reduction of noise not only will save your ears but also reduce your level of stress.

If you can't sleep, I can't recommend the Crystal Guardian sleep plugs enough. Disposable foam earplugs hurt my small ears, silicone ones wouldn't stay stuck and didn't cut down enough noise, and Loop earplugs were too bulky to comfortably sleep on your side. These sleep plugs solved all my issues instantly and have incredible seal. I can't even feel them, and they're super cute. Elliot was great to work with and was flexible on finding a time to take my molds. I now am not plagued by loud neighbors every night, nor do I wake up with sore ears.
